Here I have compiled some helpful tips and what you can expect to experience at each type of session that I offer. I hope this helps prepare you and of course feel free to ask me questions if I have missed something!

What to Expect at Your Session!

Newborn Sessions

*For this type of session you can expect to be at my home studio for about 30-60minutes.

* Prefer your baby be two weeks or less at the time of the session for the best results. This has more to do with just how sleepy they are. They are easy to swaddle and startle less at a younger age as well.

*You do not need anything with you besides baby, a few diapers/wipes, and a pacifier. A pacifier is very helpful, even if they aren't fond of one, to help me soothe the baby just long enough to get a shot, without going through a whole feeding.

*I ask that you dress baby in something easy to remove, like a zip up sleeper, and try to have their belly full. When you arrive I will take them straight from the carseat and get going. I try to take advantage of their sleepiness from the car!

*I do allow siblings and family portraits at the same time as the newborn session, if you've chosen that package.

*The room will be very warm for baby so be sure to dress yourself accordingly.

*"What if my baby is fussy?" No problem! I have worked with over 1,500 newborns now and can typically soothe them by either wrapping, rocking, or allow them to be fed.

*I have more props/outfits/backdrops/wraps ect. than I could ever list! Please take a look at my "Newborn Wardrobe" tab to get an idea of the things you'd like used for your little one!

First Birthday Sessions

*For this type of session you can expect to be at my home studio for about 30 minutes.

*I will ask you, prior to your session, what your theme or vision is and I will design a unique setup to match.

*Around 12 months of age a lot of babies are very hesitant around strangers. For this reason I will have you place them in or on the props and change them for me. I do not want to scare your little one.

*I always leave enough room between my sessions to give them time to warm up for this reason.

*"What if my baby is fussy?" No problem! I have tricks to help! But if nothing is working, I always allow you to go for a ride, go have a nap or lunch and try again later that day if possible or another day if not!

*I have more props/outfits/backdrops/ ect. than I could ever list! Please take a look at my photos for inspiration!

*You will responsible to bring the cake if you'd like a cake smash.

Maternity Sessions

*For this type of session you can expect to be at your session for about 30 minutes.

*You may choose a location, ask for examples of places I've used, or do an in-studio session if the weather is not ideal!

*I do allow siblings and family portraits at the same time as the maternity session.

*I prefer to schedule when you are around 33-35 weeks.

*I have over 40 maternity gowns that can be found under the "Client Closet" tab on this site!
